Who would you choose to believe?

A celebrity who claims he is innocent from allegations of hitting a reporter outside his home…or, a reporter who says she broke one front tooth from being punched on the face by the celebrity?

Here’s the story: Last Jan. 17th, Miss Kim (reporter) was waiting outside Korean actor, Song Il Gook’s house trying to get an interview about his upcoming wedding. Miss Kim got out of her car while still on her cellphone and reached out to hold the actor’s right arm. He shook her off and hit her on the face, caused her a broken front tooth. This is the plaintiff’s side of the story. Song Il Gook denies the allegations and plans to counter sue for libel.

My my…this is a tough one. Most people love Song Il Gook, especially his fans from “Jumong” (Korean epic drama). If the allegations were true, then Song Il Gook may well be the Asian version of Russell Crowe. Would he, like Crowe, hurl objects to hotel attendants for poor service? I can hardly imagine so. It was intruding for the reporter (paparazzi) to just show up at his house and expect him to give an interview. She’s crossed the line when she “reached out to hold his harm”, in my opinion. What are they? Best Friends?? If the story was true, I think the reporter got what she deserves. Who do you believe? and if the allegations were true, do you think she deserved it?

The leading star of the Korean epic TV series “Jumong” is starring in what seem to be yet another good drama entitled “The Lobbyist”.

Song Il Gook plays the role Harry who goes through ordeals rises to become very successful in a logistics enterprise. Actor Han Jae Suk plays the role Kang Jae Hyuk, a lobbyist struggling between money and power. This drama is about a female lobbyist, played by Jang Jin Young, who deals with international arms traders in the political arena.

Song Il Gook did an excellent job in Jumong. The Lobbyist may potentially be the next hit mini series for us to blog and talk about.

The production cost of “The Lobbyist” is around 12 billion Won.
